Chicago Fire was spot on when they titled a recent episode “Carry Their Legacy”. The preview showed the dangers for firefighters in dealing with confined space rescue. History shows that confined space operations are an extremely dangerous activity for the fire service. The danger starts when firefighters don’t recognize the presence of a confined space and find the rescuer becomes the victim.
Soon, NFPA will be releasing a free online training module, designed to raise awareness and understanding of the risks associated with confined space operations.
