Using Leading Indicators to Improve Safety and Health Outcomes

In 2019, OSHA published Using Leading Indicators to Improve Safety and Health Outcomes. The Agency views this as a first step to sharing leading indicators information with employers. Now the agency would like to learn about and share knowledge of leading indicators, and their current use in industry. OSHA is interested in developing a Leading Indicators resource that can be used by employers to help develop or improve their safety and health management system (SHMS). OSHA asks for stakeholder input on leading indicators that they currently use and the effectiveness of those indicators in managing their SHMS.
